Why Mr Ramesh Matiala's Initiative To Help Poor Girls Get Married Is a Noble Step Forward?
Winter months are at the doorsteps and with the arrival of the winter, the period of unifying two
souls will begin to shape up. Indeed, we are talking about marriages and you will see many of
your friends and families will be posting pictures attending marriages. But sadly not everyone is
fortunate enough to enjoy the most eventful occasion in their life, which is marriage. Girls have a
special dream of marriage, but those who belong to the economically weaker section just think
about twice a meal. However that basic dream is going to change for such girls since AAP
Counselor Ramesh
Mr Matiala, on the eve of his birthday which happened on July 4th 2021 announced that he
would be undertaking a noble cause every year in any form. So last year, he planned to help poor
families who are facing hardship while arranging for their daughter’s marriage get some help
through his initiative. Last year Mr Matiala helped two girls who were hailing for his block get
married to the person of their choice.
To make sure that the marriage function should go as planned, Mr Matiala arranged for all the
gifts that are needed in a typical marriage. On a humble note, he gifted bedding,
cupboards/Almirah, utensils, clock and a bicycle. These are some of the prime essentials that
daughters need when they are leaving their parent’s house.

Mr Matiala didn’t touch the party funds to help aid this noble cause. On the contrary, he
invested everything from his own savings; however, he was helped not financially but in kind by
his team mates MP Sanjay Singh, spokesperson Durgesh Pathak, Mahendra Yadav and Gopal
Rai.
Such acts of kindness must set an example for others to follow. Right now Indian politics has
been mired in controversies and scams. Most of the politicians have been going through rigorous
image makeovers. But when something as unprecedented and noble like Mr Matiala’s noble
initiative to help the poors on his birthday happen, these events ignite a new hope that India is
changing and there are politicians around who are thinking for the best of others.

Mr. Matiala’s step will indeed work as a watershed moment for others who are thinking of
helping others but they do not know how to start with the same. AAP or Aam Aadmi Party
emerged with the narrative to drive away corruption and help the country, Mr. Matiala’s
initiative has further bolstered and supported that narrative that the party indeed belongs to the
aam aadmi who are looking for empowerment. Through such initiatives orchestrated by the
party members, it is not a far fledged dream at all.
